Should Manny Pacquiao retire or not?

Fans of Boxing Champion Manny Pacquiao cannot agree whether to let their hero retire from boxing or not. Some believe that he should appear in the ring once more to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr., asserting that Mayweather's defeat will become his highest achievement as a pugilist.

On the other hand, Pacquiao's family, particularly his mother, expressed her desire to let her son retire and focus on some other equally valuable things, perhaps politics. Indeed Manny has already amassed great wealth from boxing and will not lack anything all his life, as his mother says. Some fans believe in Mommy Dionisia. They say that as Pacquiao’s mother, Mommy Dionisia knows better for her son. Meanwhile, others believe that Pacquiao has already proven himself as the best boxer in the world. As such, he has established himself and nothing else to prove.

With all these opinions going around, others are kind enough to let the Filipino ring icon decide for himself. In the most recent meeting with the press, Pacquiao said that he will set the issue aside, in the meantime, and focus on his campaign. He is running for a seat in congress to represent his district on May 10. His wife is behind him in all his decisions. She will support him all the way.

Should Pacquiao consider Mayweather in deciding about his retirement? The answer is a blunt no. Mayweather is nothing compared to Pacquiao. Now, the fans have already aired their views and opinions. Pacquiao himself has spoken about the issue. The number of people who say yes or no is not important. Yet, the talk will continue because Manny is a public figure and will remain as such.
